Current Product Status

To date, Anethon has

(1) identified the key molecules in a model of intraperitoneal primitive cell attraction,

(2) successfully applied these molecules to collagen containing prostheses,

(3) shown enhanced primitive (stem) cell attraction to these devices in small animals and

(4) shown adequate and phenotypically accurate recellularization of such a coated heart valve in large animal pulmonary valve replacement.

In addition, sheep studies have shown a reduction by 50% of the combined risk of thrombosis, stenosis and rupture of carotid artery grafts after 3 months. Also a trend to decreased heart valve calcification has been observed.
