Company

Anethon is a medical device company developing second generation biomimetic cardiovascular prostheses.

These devices are class III implants encompassing blood vessels, patches and heart valves.
The company, a Flanders based spin-off of the KULeuven, was incorporated in July 2011, to exploit IP and know-how generated by its founders, Prof Willem Flameng, a key opinion leader in cardiac surgery, and Geofrey De Visscher, PhD.

Anethon's mission is to enhance healing after implantation of cardiovascular prostheses. This is achieved by coating devices with transformational proteins that help the body recognize and accept these implanted devices.
